In this project, research equipment was provided to strengthen the testing and research system for pathogens at the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), a public health laboratory capable of carrying out advanced-level testing in Guinea. This contributed to the early detection and prevention of the spread of infectious diseases in Guinea.

Solomon Islands is an island country consisting of approximately 1,000 islands. Because of the small domestic markets and geographical distance from international markets, they are facing development difficulties, common to other Pacific Island countries. The country is also vulnerable to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, however due to a lack of inspection equipment, identifying natural disaster high risk areas is difficult. In this project, the provision of geological research equipment contributed to the promotion of disaster prevention and climate change measures in the country.

In Ghana, Bronchitis, malaria, HIV/AIDS, diarrhea and other infectious diseases account for more than 70 percent of major diseases. Therefore, infectious disease control is an important part of the country's health strategy. Under this project, various kinds of research equipment were supplied to Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) a newly built advanced research center for infectious diseases, located in Ghana. It contributed to reinforcing the research and human resource development. Also strengthening the capacity to fight infectious diseases in Ghana and West Africa.
